Will Prowse what have you got on there?
So this is called a TECHSHOT, it’s a product I’ve come up with, and as you can see it’s designed to make you hit the ball late by promoting the front elbow.
So that was too early, you can feel that stretch and it will tell you when you are hitting out in front.
Obviously this is built for left and right handers?
Yes, it’s designed to flip over to keep the straps on the outside. You can flip it over so the right hander can use it as well.
Any age restrictions?
I’ve designed it in 4 sizes, so anyone from about 8 years old to an elite player can use it.
So how did you come up with it? Was it a floor in your game?
I’m a lefty, so always having the ball come away, it was always an issue with me, trying to flash at the wide ones. And I see it in coaching, with the young guys particularly, it’s a pretty odd position to get yourself into that bent front elbow position. So the young guys find it pretty hard, and even the guys out of form at the top level, you can see it even with the Aussie guys over in England. They play out in front when it is nipping around, so it can help both elite and junior players.
Being a bowler myself, do you guys need any help!?
We always need help!
Batters are the ones with the 130k rockets coming at you aren’t you!
Playing on these synthetic wickets at training you tend to play in front. On the weekend (during a game) the ball nips around (so you need to train with that in mind when you’re in the nets).
You’re really going back to basics aren’t you?
Yeah, it’s something that you can strap on to get you back in the zone. A lot of the guys come from work and they’re not thinking about batting. You can strap a Techshot on and start thinking about your technique again. You can definitely see it when it holds you back when you are playing too early.
The idea with it is you can take it off, or un-hook it (the resistance band). I like to hit it with 10 or 15 minutes on, and then you can see yourself and your body really getting back into the hitting zone.
